New courtyards in Copenhagen inspired by the residents’ needs and ideas

For the next couple of years, the Copenhagen Municipality’s Agency for Technical and Environmental Services will complete courtyard makeovers of four courtyards in Copenhagen. Together with the architectural firm, Opland Landscape Architecture, and Holmsgaard A/S Rådgivende Ingeniører (Holmsgaard Inc. Consulting Engineers), Actant has won a EU tender concerning the new courtyards.

Actant has been in charge of the resident involvement in the four courtyards, where the residents have become co-constructors of their new courtyard through introductory meetings, interviews, and observations, as well as idea generation, discussion, and prioritization of suggestions on workshops. In this way, Actant ensured that the residents’ needs and wishes in terms of functionality, green initiatives, and the social life in the new courtyards became the departure point for the architects’ and engineers’ work on realizing the courtyards.

Today couldn’t have been more successful or perfect! There was such a positive and nice atmosphere!
Ole Bay-Schmith, former chairman of Gl. Ladegaards Kareén (spoken after a courtyard party hosted by Actant)
